Kingcraft
{a thematic exposition through 1+2 Kings}
LIFE CAN BE LIKE A TRAIN WRECK IN A DUMPSTER FIRE.
JUST ASK THE OLD TESTAMENT KINGS. SOME LIVED FOR GOD, OTHERS LIVED FOR THEMSELVES, BUT THEY WERE ALL SERIOUSLY BROKEN. A LOT OF HISTORY AND LIFE HAPPENS IN 1 AND 2 KINGS. BETWEEN THE END OF DAVID’S DEATH AND JEHOIACHIN, WEARING AN INMATE JUMPSUIT AND EATING DINNER WITH BABYLON’S KING. AS MESSY AS THE HISTORY WAS, SOMEBODY THOUGHT THE STORIES OF THE KINGS WAS WORTH COMPILING AND TELLING. EVEN THOUGH OUR LIVES OUR MESSY, IT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S A WASTE. JESUS SAID “PEOPLE ARE WEARY AND WORN OUT, LIKE SHEEP WITHOUT A SHEPHERD.” WE ALL NEED THE TRUE KING IN OUR LIFE. THE KING OF KINGS IS FOR YOU. HE BRINGS PEACE IN A LIFE OF TURMOIL.
THE BOOKS OF KINGS IS FOR YOU.
The sermon background style: Interpreting 1+2 Kings by grammatico-historical exegesis, Pastor Cam will take account of King’s literary forms and devices, and use Scripture and Christ’s gospel for interpretation, and present it in a narrative expository style. There’s a lot to learn from the Old Testament kings, and ultimately, a lot to learn from the true King of kings.
