We consider Psalm 32, where King David writes as someone who has known both the weight of hidden sin and the relief of honest confession. He describes the physical and spiritual toll of silence — bones wasting away, strength dried up — and then the turning point where he confesses his sins...and receives rich mercy and grace from God.
